This five-hour journey takes you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in northern Vietnam, as we travel along a 280km route to the remote mountainous province of Cao Bang.
As we make our way to Cao Bang, the road winds beautifully through lush landscapes, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you’ll pass by traditional stilt houses of the local ethnic minorities, such as the Tay and Nung people, adding a cultural charm to the trip. We’ll be cycling on smooth tarmac roads, making our way to Pac Po.
Our journey takes us to Pac Po, a charming village nestled between towering mountain ranges, a river, and the border with China. At the 108th kilometer mark, we’ll visit the Pac Po monument, a historically significant site where Ho Chi Minh set up his revolutionary base during the Vietnam War. This is an opportunity to learn about the life of Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese Revolution, as we pay our respects to this important part of history.
After soaking in the history, we’ll hop back on our bikes and head towards a traditional hill tribe village. Cycling along the border area, we’ll make our way to Nam Nhung Commune, where we’ll take a well-deserved break to recharge.
Our cycling journey continues through mixed terrain, including gravel roads, off-the-beaten-path tracks, and village roads. Pedal through the stunning Cao Bang Global Geopark, where you’ll be immersed in some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes. We’ll make a detour before Trung Khanh Town, cycling along dirt roads and single-track trails, passing through rustic villages, majestic limestone mountains, lush green rice fields, and thriving cornfields. The picturesque scenery along the Jade Quay Son River will leave you in awe as we cycle along the border. Our journey continues with incredible views of lush rice paddy fields, where we’ll cross a bamboo bridge and cycle through charming villages, further exploring the natural beauty of Cao Bang. After a well-deserved lunch, we’ll stop at an eco homestay for a delicious local meal, before continuing our cycling adventure along the river. The day’s highlight is the majestic Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam.
